Exod 14:10 (KJS) And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the LORD.

I. And the LORD spake…

Exod 14:1-4 (KJS) And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

2 Speak unto the children of Israel, that they turn and encamp before Pihahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, over against Baalzephon: before it shall ye encamp by the sea.

3 For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They [are] entangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut them in.

4 And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; that the Egyptians may know that I [am] the LORD. And they did so.

1. Listen to what God says.

2. Do what God says.

  •  Just hearing what God says is not enough, you must do what He says also.

Matt 7:24-27 (KJS) Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

3.God will do what He says.

  • You can do what God says you can do.
  • God expects you to do what He says.

Exod 14:10-14 (KJS) And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the LORD.

11 And they said unto Moses, Because [there were] no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt?

12 [Is] not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For [it had been] better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.

13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

14 The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

II. Pharaoh Drew Nigh.

1. Pharaoh still draws nigh.

2. There is sill a Pharaoh today.

  • The devil is the Pharaoh of today.
  • Satan does not want you to do what God says, because he knows that God has a reason for you to do what He says.
  • Your life touches others.

3. What they saw with their eyes had an effect on the way they thought.

  • What they saw caused fear to control them.
  • Our thoughts should not be a result of what we see with our eyes, but rather, what God has said about what we see.
  • They could have let what God said to them about Pharaoh, comfort them, when they lifted their eyes, and saw the Egyptians marching toward them.
  • What God says should control our thoughts concerning what we see with our eyes.

2Cor 10:3-7 (KJS) For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:

4 (For the weapons of our warfare [are] not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

7 Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is Christ's, let him of himself think this again, that, as he [is] Christ's, even so [are] we Christ's.

III. The Way You See God, And Pharaoh, Will Determine Your Outcome.

1. We have weapons to fight the Pharaoh of today.

  • Our weapons our Spiritual, not natural.
  • The way you think effects your Spiritual weapons.
  • Your thoughts our not weapons, but have an effect on the way your weapons function.

2. Quit fighting without weapons.

  • You can fight without the weapons God has given you, but the outcome won't be as good.
  • The children of Israel were many, and could have turned and fought the Egyptians at the Red Sea without God.
    • Many times we try to fight our battles without the help of God.
    • We may even have a degree of success, but the outcome will never be as good as it could have been with the help of God.
  • Fear will cause you to fight Pharaoh at the edge of the Red Sea by yourself.
  • Faith will cause God to fight Pharaoh as you cross the Red Sea.

Exod 14:13 (KJS) And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

  • The Time to build your faith in God is not when you face Pharaoh at the Red Sea, but rather before he arrives at your camp.
