Spiritual
Exercise
Hebr 5:14 (KJS) But strong meat belongeth to them
that are of full age, [even] those who by reason of use have their
senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
I. WE HAVE SPIRITUAL SENSES.
-
Spiritual eyes.
-
Spiritual ears.
-
By using our spiritual senses, we become able
to discern what God calls good and evil.
-
The deep things of God belong to those who are
using their spiritual senses.
II. WE LIVE BY FAITH.
-
We must not let what we see with our natural
eyes over rule what the Word says.
-
What we see written in the Word is greater
then what it may seem like, when looked at through our natural
eyes.
-
What we see and hear causes thoughts in our
mind.
2Cor 10:4 (KJS) (For the weapons of our warfare
[are] not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of
strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing
that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing
into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
-
The Word of God is a weapon that can be used
to change thoughts of hopelessness, that come into our
mind by what we see and hear in our every day life, into
thoughts of overcoming.
-
In order to do this we must trust that
Gods Word is true.
Prov 3:5 (KJS) Trust in the LORD with all thine
heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy
ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
III. WE MUST EXERCISE OUR
SPIRITUAL SENSES DAILY.
Deut 6:6 (KJS) And these words, which I command
thee this day, shall be in thine heart: 7 And thou shalt teach
them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when
thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and
when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. 8 And thou shalt
bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as
frontlets between thine eyes. 9 And thou shalt write them upon the
posts of thy house, and on thy gates.
Prov 4:20 (KJS) My son, attend to my words;
incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from
thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they
[are] life unto those that find them, and health to all their
flesh. 23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it [are]
the issues of life.
IV. WE WILL GROW BY REASON OF
USE.
