Ephe 2:11-13 (KJS) Wherefore remember, that ye [being] in time
past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is
called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the
commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no
hope, and without God in the world:
13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the
blood of Christ.
I. We Were Once A People With Out God.
- We were with out hope.
- Because we were strangers from Gods way.
- We need to remember how it was before we knew God.
- You can't remember something until you go through something.
- It is only after you have experienced the better, that
you can see how bad, or how wrong it was before.
Acts 19:24-28 (KJS) For a certain [man] named Demetrius, a
silversmith, which made silver shrines for Diana, brought no small gain unto the
craftsmen;
25 Whom he called together with the workmen of like occupation, and said,
Sirs, ye know that by this craft we have our wealth.
26 Moreover ye see and hear, that not alone at Ephesus, but almost throughout
all Asia, this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people, saying that they
be no gods, which are made with hands:
27 So that not only this our craft is in danger to be set at nought; but also
that the temple of the great goddess Diana should be despised, and her
magnificence should be destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worshippeth.
28 And when they heard [these sayings], they were full of wrath, and cried
out, saying, Great [is] Diana of the Ephesians.
II. They believed in something that was a deception.
- It seemed right until they learned the truth, which was a better way.
III. Gods Way Is The Way Of Faith.
- The earthly way, or the worlds way of living, is far below
the way that God has provided for His people.
- Gods way of obtaining the thing that we need are not common to the people
who don't know Him. It is imposible for them to learn them.
(1Cor 2:14 (KJS) But the natural man receiveth not the things of
the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know
[them], because they are spiritually discerned.)
Even after a person comes to God, His ways must be learned.
IV. Gods Way Involves Believing and Speaking The Right Way.
Roma 4:16-24 (KJS) Therefore [it is] of faith, that [it
might be] by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the
seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the
faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,
17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him
whom he believed, [even] God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things
which be not as though they were.
18 Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many
nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.
19 And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when
he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb:
20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in
faith, giving glory to God;
21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to
perform.
22 And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.
23 Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him;
24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that
raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;
- Abraham spoke what God said he was, because he believed God.
- He didn't speak according to the way it looked.
- He didn't speak in a way that everyone would agree with.
- He would correct the ones who spoke against who God said he was.
"Hey Abram", they would say, and he would say, "it's not
Abram, it's Abraham".
- If we believe God, we must speak what God says through His Word.
- God says Your Healed
- God says Your Prosperous
- God says Your Protected
- God says Your His
