| The last words Jesus said is "IT
IS FINISHED"
John 19:30 (KJS) When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he
said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
I. JESUS FINISHED WHAT HE CAME TO DO.
- Jesus said He came to do the work that God gave Him to do, and to finish it.
- He finished what He came to do.
- There is not anything that He left undone.
II. JESUS DESTROYED THE WORKS OF THE DEVIL.
1Joh 3:8 (KJS) He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the
devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was
manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
- What are some of the works of the Devil?
John 10:10 (KJS) The thief cometh not, but for to steal,
and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life,
and that they might have [it] more abundantly.
- Satin came to:
- Deceive.
- Bring fear.
- To destroy.
- Jesus came to give life.
- To deliver.
- To heal.
- To bless.
- To forgive.
- To comfort.
III. WE DON'T NEED TO TRY AND GET GOD TO DO WHAT HE HAS ALREADY DONE.
Colo 1:12 (KJS) Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us
meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath
translated [us] into the kingdom of his dear Son:
14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, [even] the forgiveness of
sins:
- We don’t need to try and get God to:
- Bless.
- Heal.
- Deliver.
- Forgive.
- It is already finished.
IV. WE NEED TO BECOME ESTABLISHED IN WHAT JESUS HAS FINISHED.
Colo 2:6 (KJS) As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the
Lord, [so] walk ye in him:
7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been
taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the
tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
