What is Homeland Security?
The tragic events of September 11 show just how critical it is that America have a coordinated and comprehensive national strategy to help protect the United States against terrorist threats or attacks.

The President's Executive Order establishes the Office of Homeland Security and the Homeland Security Council to develop and coordinate a comprehensive national strategy to strengthen protections against terrorist threats or attacks in the United States. The new team will coordinate federal, state, and local counter-terrorism efforts.

We as the Church of God need to add a spiritual Homeland Security to the natural one the President has set up.

I. GOD WANTS US TO BE A STEWART OVER HIS LAND.

Luke 20:9 (KJS) Then began he to speak to the people this parable; A certain man planted a vineyard, and let it forth to husbandmen, and went into a far country for a long time.

1. In this parable (Luke 20:9-16) Jesus starts out by saying that God set man over what was His to care for it.

a. We are to be good and faithful stewards of the thing of God, which includes His land.

II. HOMELAND SECURITY STARTS AT HOME.

1. With prayer.

a. Pray for the leadership of our country.

b. Pray for the men and women who are in the military.

c. Pray that God will go before us with supernatural intervention.

d. Pray for the protection of our country from terrorist attacks.

III. HAVE FAITH IN GOD.

1. Believe you receive when you pray, don't wait tell you see the results.

Mark 11:24 (KJS) Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive [them], and ye shall have [them].

2. Stand on the promises of God.

Psal 107:19-21 (KJS) Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, [and] he saveth them out of their distresses.

20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered [them] from their destructions.

21 Oh that [men] would praise the LORD [for] his goodness, and [for] his wonderful works to the children of men!

3. Enter into the peace and comfort of God.

a. You can not change what God has determined to come to pass.

b. You can have peace that He is in control.

John 16:33 (KJS) These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
