It is not your harvest
Matt 9:37 (KJS) Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest
truly [is] plenteous, but the labourers [are] few;
38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth
labourers into his harvest.
I. It is not your harvest, it is Gods
1. God is looking for people who will do the work that He wants them to do,
instead of the work they want to do.
2. To often people are trying to reap the BIG harvest, when the crops across
the creek go unharvested, because no one wants to get out of the combine and
pick by hand.
*God has people for the combine, and for the picking by hand, so that He may
harvest all, but we must labor where He says to labor, not where WE think the
biggest yield will be.
3. God is just as much concerned with the 1 as He is with the 99.
II. It is not your ministry, it is Gods.
1. Many people will never do anything because they feel they will never be
able to make a difference.
2.You may never speak to 40,000 people at one time, but if God sends you to
one person, and that one person gives their life to Jesus, you made a difference
to that one.
*If God sends you to one person, and you go to that one person, you were as
faithful as the one that obeyed when God sent them to the 40,000 and they went.
Jesus came to all, they all need to know!
Jesus came to you, you need to know!
III. A good labor will reap a good harvest.
1Cor 9:22 (KJS) To the weak became I as weak, that I might
gain the weak: I am made all things to all [men], that I might by all means save
some.
1. Paul was an obedient labor, he said he was all things to all men.
*He didn't become a drunk to reach the drunk.
*He spoke in a way that the drunk could relate to.
IV. God equips His labors.
1. He equips us with the right words.
2. He equips us with the right gifts.
