| 1Cor 2:9
(KJS) But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard,
neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared
for them that love him.
10 But God hath revealed [them] unto us by his
Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
I. God has prepared good things for us.
- Such as help, when we have a need.
Hebr 4:16 (KJS) Let us therefore
come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace
to help in time of need.
- Protection, deliverance, soundness, and healing
from pestilence (sickness)
Psal 91:1 (KJS) He that dwelleth in
the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, [He is] my refuge and
my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of
the fowler, [and] from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and
under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth [shall be thy] shield and buckler.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by
night; [nor] for the arrow [that] flieth by day;
6 [Nor] for the pestilence [that] walketh in
darkness; [nor] for the destruction [that] wasteth at noonday.
- They are revealed by His Spirit. Many times as we
read or hear the word, the Spirit reveals what God has prepared for us.
- Many people never "receive" what God has
prepared and revealed for them.
II. Following Jesus leads to what God has prepared.
Matt 19:1 (KJS) And it came to pass,
[that] when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came
into the coasts of Judaea beyond Jordan;
2 And great multitudes followed him; and he
healed them there.
- As Jesus taught the people, they were told of some
of the things that God had prepared for them.
- These things, (such as salvation, healing, and
deliverance) were revealed to them.
- But it was the ones who followed Jesus, who
received what was prepared for them.
III. To follow Jesus means we must be willing to
go in the direction He is going.
Hose 6:1 (KJS) Come, and let us return
unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he
will bind us up.
2 After two days will he revive us: in the third
day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.
3 Then shall we know, [if] we follow on to know
the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us
as the rain, as the latter [and] former rain unto the earth.
- A lot of people like to follow in the
direction of "Faith" but fewer people are willing to follow in the
direction of "Holiness"
- As we follow on, we are trained by whom we follow. Matt
4:19 (KJS) And he saith unto them,
Follow me, and I will MAKE YOU fishers of men.
IV. Following Jesus takes you to what God has prepared
for you.
John 12:26 (KJS) If any man serve
me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any
man serve me, him will [my] Father honour.
- But if we follow Jesus, wherever He goes, we will
be there also.
- If God has a "secret place", that
means not everyone knows where it is, or how to find it, or it would not be a
secret.
- But He said some will dwell there, that means He
has prepared it for us.
- I can't find it on my own, but if I follow Jesus,
He will take me there, because He lives there!
- Paul said to come boldly to the Throne, The
easiest way to get there is to follow Jesus.
The direction that Jesus goes always leads to the
Throne of God!!
