Gala 4:28-29 (KJS) Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him [that was born] after the Spirit, even so [it is] now.

• Paul is talking about those with a covenant vs. those without one.
• Those who are a Christian vs. those who are not.
• Our reborn spirit vs. our old nature.

Gala 5:16-17 (KJS) [This] I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

• The old mature looks to your ability, walking in the spirit looks to Gods ability.
• The old nature is the way of death because it is not subject to the law of God.
• To be spiritually minded is life and peace because it is subject to Gods ways.

Roma 8:5-8 (KJS) For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded [is] death; but to be spiritually minded [is] life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind [is] enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

2Cor 10:3 (KJS) For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare [are] not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

• Paul is talking about spiritual warfare. Taking control over our imaginations, our thoughts, and the way we look at things, will determine the outcome of our prayers.
• We must always place the Word of God above the way it looks.
• Your words that you speak are very important when it comes to fighting spiritual battles because battles in the spirit realm are fought with the Word of God, (Luke4:1-13)
• We live in a natural (fleshly) world, but citizens of a spiritual world.

Colo 1:13 (KJS) Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated [us] into the kingdom of his dear Son:

• To walk in the spirit, we have to handle the issues of life, the way God has said in His word.
